This week, the week of March 14-18, 2016, we will be looking at songs from groups after their lead singers left!
We call it: "Splitsville 2"
March 17, 2016
In a reversal of last week's theme we'll take a look at some songs released after a group lost their lead singer or founder.
There's not a lot that can be said about the transition of Van Halen after the release of their 1984 album.
Riding high off the album lead singer David Lee Roth released a successful EP and then publicly announced his departure from the band.
After grabbing up Sammy Hagar the next Van Halen album was their first #1 albums and spawned a multitude of top 20 hits.
"Why Can't This Be Love" started a string of nearly a dozen top 40 hits before a falling out ended with Hagar leaving the band also.
