This week, the week of March 14-18, 2016, we will be looking at songs from groups after their lead singers left!
We call it: "Splitsville 2"
March 16, 2016
In a reversal of last week's theme we'll take a look at some songs released after a group lost their lead singer or founder.
With a history stretching back to the early 1960's "Pink Floyd" signed their first recording contract in 1967 and immediately started having issues.
With two top 20 singles in the UK, by April of 1968 founding member Syd Barrett was out with group and newer member David Gilmour taking over the lead singer role.
The group found success on the US charts when they hit #13 in July of 1973.
The group hit the charts again in reaching #1 in the UK (1979) and the US (1980) with "Another Brick in the Wall"
