This week, the week of March 14-18, 2016, we will be looking at songs from groups after their lead singers left!
We call it: "Splitsville 2"
March 15, 2016
In a reversal of last week's theme we'll take a look at some songs released after a group lost their lead singer or founder.
Originally formed in 1967, Genesis saw several line ups over the years without ever charting in the US.
When original member and lead singer Peter Gabriel left the group in 1975 the band settled on current member Phil Collins as their new singer and found chart success.
"Your Own Special Way" only reached #68 on the Hot 100 in April of 1977, but the band sooned followed with their first US top 40 hit "Follow You, Follow Me" the following year.
Genesis only had one number hit, "Invisible Touch in 1986.
