This week, the week of February 8-12, 2016, we will be looking at anti-love songs!
We call it: "I love hating you!"
February 10, 2016
First a note: After almost two months it should be pretty obvious that most of the songs chosen for the MMMI are going to songs *I* like. So if you think there could be a better song (or more songs) that fit a theme feel free to share!
With that out of the way...
I know many people think Valentine's Day is just another excuse to guilt us into buying stuff for people whether it be a simple card or something much larger. To that end there have been plenty of songs over the years about love and breakups and, well, not being in love anymore.
Here are some of my favorites!
As I make up the themes for each week I go off some tangents. And I've considered doing an entire week of this artist highlighting all the different genres she has crossed from decade to decade and all the other talents she worked with!
A remake that had been on the Hot 100 in 1963 and reached #3 in the UK in 1964 by another artist...song of regret of leaving a good love for a bad one...it was released in 1975 off the 1974 "Heart Like A Wheel" album,
Linda Ronstadt first sang the song in a live television performance in 1973.
The song was her first, and only, number one hit.
Tomorrow: Things good get ugly!
