This week, the week of February 15-19, 2016, we will be looking at Grammy Losers!
We call it: "Who needs your stinking trophy anyway?!?!"
February 16, 2016
It is Grammy week and over the years there have been notable snubs from year to year and winners who probably didn't deserve to win or who went on to do nothing more in their careers. this week we'll glance at a few that the Grammys never thought were quite good enough to win at all.
Just like yesterdays entry you can probably name a handful of bona fide hits by this group and easily sing all the words to them also. But despite five nominations over the years Queen never WON a grammy.
In fact of their five nominations one was for "Best Long Form Video" in 2002 for "Freddie Mercury: The Untold Story" so only four were for their music or musical work.
Only two of their songs, "Bohemian Rhapsody" (1976) and "Another One Bites the Dust" (1981) were nominated and lost. That's it.
However in 2009 two of their songs were put in to the "Grammy Hall of Fame"
The Grammy Hall of Fame is to "honor recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that are at least 25 years old." But apparently not good enough to win, let alone get nominated for, a Grammy?
Tomorrow: A lifetime can get you an achievement award!
